Day 17 Bishkek rest day

After last nights farewell dinner with cheese balls and vodka featuring predominantly, it wasn't hard to have a sleep in. Well that is if can call 730 a sleep in. We went down for breakfast and met up with Peter and Zelda. Our 2 english riders had departed just before breakfast so  we said our farewells the night before. After breakfast we had to sign off on the bikes and as would be expected there was no major damage other than what was already noted.
Peter was stuggling with a bit of a bug so he decided to have a rest while Ann, Zelda and I went to the Bazaar. It was an interesting place and very busy. It is a local bazaar with evwrything for sale from fresh bread, fruit and vegetables to clothing, furniture and saddles.

We were looking for some felt art like one we saw at the coffee house the day before. We found plenty of felt but nothing like that masterpiece. It was disappointing but we already had one we bought in Naryn.
Zelda was on mission to find a tshirt for Peter and after many stores and searches we finally found one for him. Tshirt sizes in Kyrgyzstan can vary. I can be an XL at one store to a 2XL at another. I cant wait to get home to become a size L again!
After the bazaar we grabbed a taxi to take us down the road to the Gloria Coffee lounge again for lunch. The taxi fare was 200 Com ($4 AUD) for a 3km ride.its funny how the taxi drivers here speak better english than those in Australia! We would have walked but the temperature was rising and there wasnt much  shade along the way.

We arrived at Gloria Coffee lounge and the waitress we had on the first day recognised  us immediately and had the biggest smile. We had our business lunch and fruit lemonade for 3 people for the princely sum of 1400 Com ($25) and our lovely waitress was tipped 200 com.

After lunch we walked back to the B Hotel for an afternoon siesta, but were woken so the room could be made up. Once agan we met up with Peter and Zelda as their room was also being serviced. A coffee later we headed back  ro our room for a rest before dinner.

Dinner was to be at the Navat Restaurant. Unbeknown to us there are 8 of these in Bishkek and the first one we went to was not the one we wanted so the taxi driver took us to another. It had a great outdoor area and the food and service were great.

We left  there around 9PM and went back to the hotel. Our tour was coming to and it was hard to believe we did so much in such a short time. With a 3AM pick up we didnt waste any time getting into bed and having  a snooze.
